Cabin Chronicles Part 11

All of the rooms are starting to take shape now that the floors and walls are finished.

Here's a pic of the back bedroom.

One wall is log and the other 3 walls are board and batten.
This room is small, so we decided to paint the walls white to help it feel brighter.
Don't worry though, it still has plenty of rustic elements.

The wood above the white walls is rustic pallet wood.
The trim is pine and it is stained in a dark stain.

This room has one window with chunky pine trim
andthere are log beams on the ceiling

This room functions as our guest bedroom.
It currently houses the bunkbeds that my husband used as a child.

This room also functions as our closet.
There is a small full length closet and an armoire in here.
The armoire holds hang up shirts in the top portion
and linens on the shelves in the bottom portion.

There's not much more to say about this room.

Onto the other room in the back portion of the cabin.
The bathroom.

This room has pine floors and walls.
The wall behind the toilet is made from weathered pallet boards.
I like how it breaks up the wood tones.

We chose to use an old pie safe as our sink vanity.

We added longer legs to it to make it taller
and made a new top for it that is bigger than the original top.
This allows for some counter space.

The space to the left of the shower is actually the closet in the other room.
The bathroom is 6' wide and the shower is 4' wide.
We were able to build a closet in the other 2 feet of space.

On the other side of the toilet, opposite of the shower is a stackable washer and dryer.
We built a closet around the washer/dryer and it is home to my broom and other cleaning tools.
The washer/dryer closet is directly in front of the door when you walk into the bathroom.
Everything else in the bathroom is to the left of the door.

All of the walls are sealed with a protective clear sealer
and the wood floors have been protected with a few coats of a hand rubbed oil finish.

Check back soon to see how we built out the kitchen portion of the cabin.
I made the cabinets myself from reclaimed barnwood. Part 12

If you are just joining in on the build and you would like to start at the beginning go here.

  3. Greetings Adina. You did extremely adoring project. Love it so much. It's pleasing to see such refurnish progress. The room looks really beautiful. The white wall under the rustic pallet wood and dark stain looks really brighter. Just wanted to get the idea of drywall contractor Sacramento. But this made me so so delighted. Thanks for sharing your lovely cabin adventure.
